PENFIELD VARSITY GAME PICTURES:
Don't forget about these great team action photos... THANKS Tom Szatko!!!
Penfield Varsity game pictures are posted at www.photobucket.com/penfieldsoccer.
My plan is to have a directory for each game for all to look at.
The pictures can be downloaded as you please. To download, click on the individual picture from the thumbnails and the pic will open.
A menu bar will appear on top. Put mouse over "file" in upper left of pic and select download original size as the web size photo shown is much smaller than the original.
Thanks
Tom Szatko

Penfield
Coach: John Butterworth (27th year, 362-100-68).
Last year: 16-3-2 (shared Class AAA title; lost in state quarterfinals).
Key players: Dan Lynd, sr. GK; Ben Swanger, jr. M; Matt McLaughlin, sr. F; Paul Lentine, sr. M; Austin Bartlett, sr. D; Zack Andrews, sr. D.
Outlook: So much ended up on the feet of AGR Player of the Year Alex Swanger (19 goals/13 assists) last fall that the Patriots will need to adapt. His brother, Ben, a second-team AGR pick, is a great place to start. Five other starters are back and the 6-foot-4 Lynd should be solid in goal. That's usually a recipe for success at Penfield, whose title last fall was its 19th overall but first since 2004. "We should be right in the hunt," Butterworth said.

Why such a condensed schedule in boys soccer?
The Penfield boys soccer team played its season opener on Tuesday (2-1 win at Canandaigua), then lost on Thursday at Webster Schroeder (1-0). The Patriots play at Brighton on Saturday then host Webster Thomas on Monday. Why in the world are they playing four matches in seven days? That’s a quarter of their regular season happening in the first week of the season. It’s a recipe for injuries and not fair to the players. I looked at the rest of the schedule and there are a couple of breaks of four and five days without matches. You’d think things could be spaced out a little better. But there’s another five-games-in-11-days stretch from Oct. 4-14.
