- Penfield boys basketball finished the 2011-2012 season with a record of 13-5. This is the best record in the program since 1995!
- Penfield basketball player Kyle Covley scored his 1,000 point in a 69-55 win over Webster Thomas on 2/1/2012.
- Penfield Lady Patriots won the NY State Large School Volleyball Title on Sunday November 20th!
- Penfield boys soccer goalie Dan Lynd registered 12 shutouts for the 14-2 Patriots and had Section V's lowest goals-against average for 2011 at .20 giving up only 3 goals. There are 105 teams in Section V.
- Penfield senior quarterback Kyle Covley connected with senior wide receiver Matt Bilak for a 90-yard touchdown play to break the school record for touchdowns in a season with his 20th of the year.
- The Penfield boys soccer team win over Victor on October 20, 2011 was #822 in Penfield history. They are only the 6th high school team in the US to reach that milestone and have the most wins of any large school soccer team in NY State.
- In a field of over twenty teams, at the NCA High School Open National Championship in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday, March 5th, the Penfield Varsity Cheerleading team won the National Championship title for the Advanced Large School division as well as winning the judges selection for the Showmanship Award.
- That Jason Gerlach broke a 39 year old Penfield High School record in the 100 butterfly at the NYPHSAA State Championship swim meet in Long Island, NY. He finished the year with the top 100 butterfly time in Section V and the 8th fastest time in NYS.
- That Katie Lembo, Whitney Vaughn, Ilana Schnaufer and Leila Mantilla set a new Section V record in the Distance Medley Relay at 12:36.51.
- Sean Murphy won his 100th career match at 145 pounds for Penfield in its 65-9 win over Newark.

- That Gaylen Fronk recently broke the Lady Patriot "Modern Day" Assist Record with her 1,704th assist.
- Penfield's varsity track coach Dave Hennessey is recognized as the nation's dual-meet wins leader among boys (460) and girls (424) cross country coaches by the National Federation of State High School Associations. Coach Hennessey is also a member of the Section V Cross Country, Indoor Track and Outdoor Track Halls of Fame.
- Allison Cappellino of the girls volleyball team broke the Lady Patriot "modern day" Kill record with her 1,210 kill.
