Allison Cappellino, Girls Volleyball, Penfield
Senior/Outside Hitter - Player of the Year
Parents: Mary and Ron Cappellino.
Season highlights: Dominating hitter led Patriots (19-0) to Class AA state title with 28 digs and 20 kills in the championship match. Also named All-American, all-state and Monroe County Division I Player of Year.
Academics: 3.4 GPA.
Future plans: Contacted by several... Division I colleges but undecided.
About me: Four-year player owns school records for kills (1,723), digs (1,099) and aces (279).

Gaylen Fronk, Girls Volleyball, Penfield
Senior/Setter
Parents: Linda and Robert Fronk.
Season highlights: Steady and smart quarterback for Class AA state champions had 49 assists in title match win. A repeat AGR pick, she earned all-state honors and was All-Monroe County and co-MVP for Penfield (19-0).
Academics: 99.2 average.
Future plans: Will play at... Davidson College.
About me: School-record 2,786 assists. She says she hopes to be a good role model for her younger sister.

Andrew Solomon, Girls Volleyball, Penfield
Coach of the Year
Season highlights: Guided Patriots (19-0) to Class AA state championship in his third season.
Job: Physical education teacher at Harris Hill Elementary in Penfield.
Career: Coached at Buffalo's Mount St. Mercy (1995-97) and Pittsford Sutherland (1999-2005), including three Monroe County championships... with Sutherland. Overall record: 187-46 (46-10 at Penfield).
Family: He and wife, Jen, a principal in the Greece school district and former volleyball standout at St. John Fisher College, have three children.
College: University at Buffalo for Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Study and Documentary film; SUNY Brockport for Bachelor of Science and Masters in education.

Leila Mantilla, Track, Penfield
Senior - Player of the Year
Parents: Lisa and Ed Mantilla.
Season highlights: Finished 12th at Foot Locker regionals (18:49, two spots and 8.4 seconds short of qualifying for nationals), sixth at Federations (18:41) where team was 10th, 15th at 'A' states (20:15), fourth at sectionals (18:25, personal best time). Four firsts,... two seconds in league meets.
Academics: 95 average.
Future plans: Plans to study architecture and compete for either Columbia, Yale or Syracuse. About me: Name is pronounced "LEE-luh man-TEE-uh." Two-time AGR selection. Credits her parents who have "supported me through everything, and my coaches and teammates who push me to be better." Favorite athletes: Nicole Blood, Kara Goucher.

Katie Lembo, Track, Penfield
Sophomore
Parents: Jacalyn and Michael Lembo.
Season highlights: Finished 16th at Foot Locker regionals (19:09), 15th at Federations (18:58), 14th at 'A' states (20:13), second at sectionals (18:06, personal best time). Second at McQuaid Invitational (17:50 in seeded 'AAA', 3.1 miles, Sec. V's fastest time).... Second at Penfield-Irondequoit Invitational (19:20). Won three of six league races.
Academics: 93 average.
Future plans: Possibly study biology, English and Spanish in college.
About me: Two-time AGR selection. Enjoys dancing, playing the violin, bicycling and hiking. Favorite athlete is Notre Dame All-American and American 5K record-holder Molly Huddle. Credits her family and "running family" for support.

Dan Lynd, Boys Soccer, Penfield
Senior/Goalkeeper
Parents: Debbie and Tom Lynd.
Season highlights: Lanky shot stopper posted 13 shutouts with a Section V-best .20 goals-against average for the Monroe County Division I and Section V Class AAA runners-up. Named All Region and fourth-team all-state.
Academics: 88 average.
Future plans: Committed to Pittsburgh and will... major in history.
About me: Also plays basketball and volunteers for Special Olympics. Says Tim Howard is his favorite athlete.

Paul Lentine, Boys Soccer, Penfield
Senior/Midfielder
Parents: Kathy and Sam Lentine.
Season highlights: Had 9 goals and 5 assists for Section V Class AAA and Monroe County Division I runners-up. An All-Monroe County selection.
Academics: 89 average.
Future plans: Looking at RIT, RPI and University of Rochester to major in engineering.
About me: Says his... brothers, including former AGR pick Mike, have been his biggest influences.

Courtney McCarthy, Girls Golf, Penfield
Junior
Parents: Susan Gialanella and Scott McCarthy.
Season highlights: Two-time AGR selection made the state team after shooting an 88 at the sectional tournament. McCarthy was also named first-team all-county for the fourth time and team MVP for the third time.
Academics: 91 average.
About me: Notes that... Paula Creamer is her favorite athlete and lists Locust Hill, due to its beauty and challenging nature, as her favorite course.

Cody Wiktorski, Boys Volleyball, Penfield
Senior/Outside hitter/setter
Parents: Andrea and Mark Wiktorski.
Season highlights: Monroe County league all-star averaged 5.1 kills per set and was named to the Section V Class A all-tournament team.
Academics: 93 average.
Future plans: Considering Binghamton and St. John Fisher, where he would study biology on a pre-med track....
About me: 2011 AGR baseball infielder. Helped Penfield win two Secton V volleyball titles in four seasons.

Mike Fusare, Boys Volleyball, Penfield
Coach of the Year
Resides: Honeoye Falls.
Years as coach: Owns a career record of 296-82 in 16 seasons at Penfield with five Section V titles.
Season highlight: Named Section V Class A Coach of the Year for the fourth time. Named to the AGR honor in 2007
Family: Christine (wife), Joseph (son, 13) and Jacob (son, 11). Rally... points: Clinician at University of North Carolina Charlotte volleyball clinics. Teams have won seven Monroe County division titles and a state regional.

Tara Lamberti, Girls Field Hockey, Penfield
Senior/Goalkeeper
Parents: Maureen and Steven Lamberti.
Season highlights: Team MVP and repeat AGR, All-State and 3-time All-Monroe County pick led league with 226 saves and had 7 shutouts for Patriots (9-8-1).
Academics: 89 average.
Future plans: Will attend University of Rochester.
About me: Missed only one game in... a four-year career that included 63 starts and 583 saves.
