Junior/Shortstop/second base
Parents: Andrea and Mark. Season highlights: Batted .460, scored 20 runs and drove in 22 in his first varsity season. Had 7 doubles, 3 triples and 3 home runs. First-team All-County. Went 4-for-4 with a home run in a game against state-champion Victor. Academics: 93 average. Future plans: Considering ... Stony Brook, University at Buffalo, SUNY-Binghamton and Monroe Community College for pre-medicine. About me: Two-sport athlete; also played volleyball. Admires Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia for his toughness and leadership. A fan of Syracuse University athletics.

Honors: All-Monroe County pick three times and team MVP; also two-time second-team all-star in basketball. Academics: 98 avg. Favorite athlete: Hannah Teter, who won a gold medal in snowboarding half-pipe for U.S. and runs a "Hannah's Gold" charity to support fresh water wells, water filtration and schools in Kenya. Parents: Gretchen and Sean. Key stats: Penfield's overall Athlete of the Year ranks second in school history in single-season goals (70) and draw controls (77) and career goals (183) and draw controls (199) for three-time Section V Class A runners-up. Honors: All-American this year and Academic All-American ... the past two; repeat AGR pick. Academics: 3.6 GPA. Next: Will play for Duquesne University and major in athletic training. About me: Also a standout in volleyball. Best game: 8 goals against Irondequoit.
Katie Lembo, Penfield

Parents: Jacalyn and Michael. Season highlights: Broke school record, held by Deresa Walters since 1988, for 1,500 at state meet (15th, third freshman, in 4:38.60). Third in Fleet Feet's distance runner of year competition. Won Division I 1,500 at state qualifiers (4:45.27). Second in AA sectionals 3,000 ... (10:24.91), third in 1,500 (4:46.50). Academics: 93 average. Future plans: Undecided. About me: Also AGR first-teamer in cross country, indoor. Hopes to improve as a student and a runner. Parents: Lisa and Ed. Season highlights: Section V's top finisher with an 11th-place finish in the Federation 3,000. State qualifier and Section V Class AA champion. Runner-up in 1,500 at Class AA sectionals. Academics: 95 average. Future plans: Undecided on college choice but wants to study architecture.... About me: 2011 AGR Indoor and 2010 AGR Cross Country Teams. Top 25 finish in mile (5:03.44) at indoor nationals. Anchored a distance medley relay at (12:36.51) at indoor nationals.

Jason Gerlach - Junior/100 butterfly
Parents: Kay and John.
Season highlights: Finished fifth at the state meet in the 100 butterfly (51.51 seconds) after moving from 47th during the preliminaries. Finished in first place at the Section V Class A meet in the 100 butterfly. Went undefeated in individual events for the high school dual... meet season.
Academics: 89 average.
Future plans: Has been contacted by Syracuse, Alfred University and Arizona State. Considering a major in bio-medical/research sciences.
About me: The three-time AGR selection broke a 39-year old Penfield High School record in the 100 butterfly (previously was 52.60 seconds).

Jake Barnhart, Senior/215 pounds
Parents: Rosemary and Daniel.
Season highlights: Wrestled back to third-place finish in his first state tournament. SuperSectionals, Section V Class AA and Monroe County champion had a 49-3 record.
Academics: 91 average.
Future plans: Plans to major in engineering. Undecided on college.
About me:... Two-time All-American. Four-time Monroe County All-Star. Compiled a 138-29 record in four seasons.

Rachael Tylock, Senior/racewalk - Player of the Year
Parents: Lorie and Steve. Season highlights: Third at New Balance nationals in mile racewalk in 7:24.71, All-America status. Won 1,500 racewalk at "A" sectionals in 7:17.35. Won state qualifier in 7:03.20, season's best time. Fourth at states (7:13.94).
Academics: 99 average. Future plans: Will attend... Mansfield University in Pennsylvania to study science and math and train with world-class racewalking coaches Mike and Michelle Rohl.
About me: A National Merit Scholarship semifinalist. Has played harp since third grade. Sister, eighth-grader Melissa, is No. 3 race walker in Section V.

Katie Lembo, Freshman/Distance
Parents: Jacalyn and Michael. Season highlights: Second at "A" sectionals in 1,500 (4:52.42) to teammate Leila Mantilla, ran second leg on winning 3,200 relay (10:13.49) as team tied Fairport for title. Second by a half second to Shaylyn Tuite in the 1,500 (4:50.61) at state qualifiers. Thirteenth at... states (4:54.51). Top freshman mile in section (5:15.66).
Academics: 94 average.
Future plans: Undecided. About me: AGR in cross country 2010. Credits her family, coach and her "running family" with having the biggest influences on her life.
